General Forum Rules
Your first character must be approved before posting anywhere on the forum, apart for within the Help Centre.
Respect - Users are expected to respect all other users, people, beliefs or otherwise. You may not attack, demean or insult any users of the site. This includes the site’s staff. Harassment, discrimination and bullying are not tolerated. Please contact a member of staff if you feel that another user is legitimately harassing, discriminating or bullying you.
No Erotic Content - Comhcheilig is not an erotic roleplay site. Please refrain from posting any pornographic content or images. A breach of this rule will result in either a warning or permanent ban depending on the severity.
No Advertisements – Users are not allowed to advertise external websites or services with the intention of either personal gain or distracting from the community. Keep all advertisements for other roleplay forums in the advertisement section only.
Please do not spam forum boards - This is defined as posting a lot of useless posts, one after the other.
Swearing - Swearing is allowed, however you may not use this opportunity to be disrespectful or rude towards other users.
User Signatures - Please avoid very large signatures that will take a while to scroll past. Extremely bright and sparkly signatures are also against the rules, as they can be severe on the eyes. With that being said, don't use neon/bright colours to type out long lots of text and roleplay responses. Question yourself as to whether it may be hard for your roleplay partner(s) to read it.
Accounts - Only one, global account per use, please. On this forum there aren't any separate accounts for each character. All of your personal characters and their information can be stored within the Character Storage and Development area.
Roleplaying Rules
Character Limit - You may have as many characters as you'd like! There is a limit of one Royal character per user, and three of nobility status.
Fantasy, races and magic - This is a fantasy world, so races that are not humans are allowed. At the moment you may not create your own races. Magic is also permitted here, and you can view a better explanation of how magic and abilities work here.
Genders - All genders of characters are welcome on Comhcheilg! There is no organizing of characters into either male or female categories here. The same goes for sexualities.
Post Templates are NOT required! - This forum does not force anyone to use post templates for their roleplay responses and posts, but feel free to go ahead and use them if they appeal to you! A good place for finding some free post templates is Template HQ. You must register to access them. Don't use anything with very bright and distracting colours, or fonts that are difficult to read.
Killing characters: If you've become incredibly bored of a powerful character and no longer want to use them, contact a member of staff. You may plan out their deaths and have an heir (if applicable) take over. Normal characters can be killed off as well, as long as you notify staff beforehand. When it comes to killing other people's characters, you may not do so without the other user's permission.
When roleplaying: Please refrain from using *'s or -'s when roleplaying. Example: *She walked away.* or -He approached you from afar.- Have you ever seen a novel written like that? Third person narrative is strongly advised.
While we do not have a word count, it is requested that you post at least a paragraph. If you're caught posting measly replies that don't contribute to anything, you will be called out on it. Try your best to use proper grammar and spelling. All devices come with a spellchecker these days, so there's no excuses! A squiggly red line under every word is pretty hard to ignore.
No power-playing/godmodding or controlling other people's characters of any sort. I think that goes without saying, being proper roleplay etiquette and all.
No sexual roleplay. It is not necessary, nor is it appropriate as it breaches the proboards T&Cs. Please fade-to-black within roleplay threads if things begin to get heated. Kissing and holding hands, etc, is fine. If you really must partake in erotic roleplay, switch to private messaging.
Liquid Roleplaying - Liquid roleplay is allowed on this forum. Liquid roleplay is when you have one character in more than one thread at that moment in time. This allows you more roleplaying opportunities, rather than having to wait until one thread has been completed before using your character somewhere else. With that being said, please remember that huge character movements need to make sense. A noble child can't go from their home to the other end of the continent for no official reason.
